SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN 2019

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant nation wide cleanliness campaign launched by our hounarable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 2nd october 2014.It aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s cities, towns, urban and rural areas.The vision is to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of  clean and hygienic India. To contibute for the same St. Andrews College Of Physiotherapy organised “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” on 1st October 2019. The students of second year and third year BPTh and the teaching as well as the non-teaching staff of the St. Andrews college participated in the event. All worked in full enthusiasm and zeal to clean the college premises.

The students were provided with gloves, masks, brooms, garbage bags and dustbins. The roads and yards inside the college campus were cleaned. The biodegradable and non- biodegradable wastes (plastics) were collected separately. All the roads were broomed and the stagnant water was removed. The stones and bricks were picked up and collected in dustbin. All the garbaje was collected at one place and was sent to municipality. Dr. Albin Jerome, Principal of St. Andrews college of Physiotherapy talked about the importance of keeping ourselves and our surrondings clean and the explained the meaning of “ Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. The day concluded with the students taking pledge to give their contribution towards making India a clean place to live in.
