Screening camp at ZP School, Shewelewadi on “World Physiotherapy Day”
On 12th September 2018 St. Andrews college of Physiotherapy celebrated “World Physiotherapy Day” by organising a health check-up camp at Zilla Parishad school Shevalewadi, Pune.The camp was organised for the betterment of school children and exposure to our own students for assessment and treatment purposes.
The inaugaration started by 10.30 am. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of St Andrews College of Physiotherapy was present for the camp .The camp started with Ganesh vandana by school students and Lamp lighting by Chief Guests.
Mr. Chandrakant Jagtap (Principal , Shevalewadi Zilla Parishad school) Mr. Ashok Shinde (Sarpanch, Shevalewadi) Mr. Asok Shevale , Mr. Amit Pawar , Mrs. Bharthi Shevale were present for the inauguration of the camp.Dr. Albin Jerome , Dr. Gaurai Ghrarote , Dr. Shweta Kulkarni, Dr. Tejal Pardeshi, Miss. Sabina Bavighar were felicitated in hands of the chief guest. Miss Kashmira Medhe addressed the crowd on behalf of students of St. Andrews College of physiotherapy.
The Staffs addressed the students at the beginning and told students about Physiotherapy. The Camp started at 11 A.M. The Camp was conducted in two Auditoriums by taking each section of the students individually. Parameters like height weight, BMI, heart rate, pulse, Blood pressure, Balance, Gait, Muscle strength ,Pain was assessed and documented by the students on the data evaluation sheet.
The objective of the camp was to assess and treat the health problems in the children.40 students of St. Andrews College of Physiotherapy under the supervision of Staffs of St. Andrews College of physiotherapy had assessed the 530 students of the school. Dr. Albin Jerome assessed the neurological aspects, Dr. Gaurai Ghrarote assessed the orthopaedic aspects , Dr. Shweta Kulkarni assessed the paediatric aspects and Dr. Tejal Pardeshi did the ergonomic evaluation and assessed from the community aspect. Basic vital parameters and orthopaedic evaluation was done in the camp. Lunch was provided to the students of college of Physiotherapy from college.
In post lunch session the abnormalities found in the assessment were addressed by the staff of the college. The camp finished at 5 P.M. by vote of thanks was given by Mr. Chandkrant Jagtap (Principal, Shevalewadi Zilla Parishad School).
