BREAST FEEDING AWARENESS - August 2024

The theme for World Breastfeeding Awareness week 2024 is “Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all.” World Breastfeeding Week is observed from 01 August to 07 August every year. Hence to generate awareness among people about the protective role of breastfeeding and to raise awareness regarding the importance of breastfeeding, the Community Physiotherapy Department of St. Andrews College of Physiotherapy organized Breastfeeding awareness program. Students prepared skit and Poster. The program was held at the administrative office and PNC ward of Kamla Nehru Hospital on 07st August 2024 from 12 PM to 1 PM. The session started with a small skit performed by 3rd year students, educating the crowd about the importance and early initiation of breastfeeding. Followed by that, a session on various breastfeeding position was explained by Dr. Afreen Shaikh with the help of a Poster. The importance of breastfeeding to the mother along with its importance to the child with the benefits were explained by Miss Sandhyarani Kharat. Following this session, participants actively participated by raising various questions and the faculty members answered the questions.
