Workshop – SURFACE ANATOMY FOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST – 2019
A hands on workshop was organized by the Staffs of St. Andrews College of Physiotherapy (SACOP), Pune for the better understanding of Anatomy and to score good marks in exam on 22nd May 2019 (Wednesday). The objective of this workshop was to get an exposure to such workshop for the physiotherapy students and to enable them to skillfully locate the anatomical structures over the patients during examinations.
It was held at Physiology Demo Hall at SACOP. Dr. VijayaKumar, Professor from Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune was the resource person for this workshop. It was held from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Total of 38 first year B.P.Th students along with staffs participated in this workshop.
Background & importance of workshop-
- Surface anatomy is a knowledge filled workshop that enlightens the gross anatomy externally, examines the shapes of body counters & helps in marking of the surface of the body as they relate to deeper structures. It is essential in locating & identifying anatomical structures externally prior to emphasizing the internally bases structures.

The entire workshop was divided into:-
- Thorax
- Upper Limb – Shoulder
- Lower Limb –Hip
- The Neck Region
The 9 hour of resilient training concluded with a funny activity of Dermatome & Myotome dance. It was followed by certificate distribution.
